Dr. Wilbur graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1999. He then completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Iowa, where he was Chief Resident 2001-2002, followed by a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship 2002-2003. He is currently Professor of Clinical Family Medicine for the Roy J. & Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. Prior to that, he was Medical Director of the Family Medicine Clinic in Iowa City from 2006 to 2011. The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics awarded him the Above and Beyond Reward in 2006 and again in 2007, along with the Teacher of the Year Award, presented by the University of Iowa Family Medicine residents, in 2008. Dr. Wilbur was reappointed to the DUR for a third term in 2020 which will expire in June 2024.
