Dr. Cate is the Pharmacy Consultant for Iowa Medicaid. Abby graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2015 as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Organizations from Iowa’s Tippie College of Business in 2011. She has a vast pharmacy experience with positions held in hospital, community, specialty and managed care pharmacy areas. Prior to her role in Iowa Medicaid, Abby served on the Iowa Medicaid Pharmaceuticals and Therapeutics Committee from 2021 to 2023. She is an active member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association and the City of Johnston, having served on committees for both.
Dr. Hartley is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Community Health Centers of Southeast Iowa in West Burlington, Iowa, and recently worked in Kansas as a Staff Physician at Trust Women and Planned Parenthood, ED Physician at Air Capital Emergency Physicians, and Chief Informatics Officer at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2003, and also has a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Hartley was appointed to the DUR Commission in 2022; her first term will expire in June 2026.
Dr. Johnson is currently a Pharmacist in Charge at Walgreens Pharmacy in Ankeny, Iowa, and previously worked at Hy-Vee, CVS, and Towncrest pharmacies, in addition to other Walgreens locations. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2015. Dr. Johnson was appointed to the DUR Commission in 2024; her first term will expire in June 2028.
Dr. Klotz is the pharmacy manager at Medicap Pharmacy in Des Moines, Iowa. Melissa graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2007, and has experience with hospital, long term care and retail pharmacy. She has volunteered at Grace Methodist Free Medical Clinic, and also volunteered at Webster City Free Medical Clinic 2009-2010. Dr. Klotz was reappointed for a second term in 2021 which will expire in June 2025.
Dr. Kruse graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa Des Moines Campus in 2014, and is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Kruse currently practices inpatient and outpatient medicine at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Kruse was reappointed for a second term in 2021 which will expire in June 2025.
Dr. Randleman is currently an Emergency Medicine Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, and previously worked at Mercy Medical Center as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist. As part of her current role, she reviews and applies guideline-based medicine, specifically hospital policies related to drug therapy and helping to implement new procedures as policies are approved. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Drake University in 2007. She served on the Iowa Medicaid Pharmaceuticals and Therapeutics Committee from 2013 to 2020, and also has experience on several hospital, Iowa Pharmacy Association, and Iowa Board of Pharmacy committees. Dr. Randleman was appointed to the DUR Commission in 2022; her first term will expire in June 2026.
Dr. Reinking is currently a Staff Pharmacist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at BCHC Oelwein Pharmacy in both the Oelwein, Iowa and Independence, Iowa locations. and previously worked at Oelwein Family Pharmacy and NuCara Pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2013. Dr. Reinking was appointed to the DUR Commission in 2024; her first term will expire in June 2028.

Dr. Schaeffer is currently a family practice and emergency room physician at Clarinda Regional Health Center, where he has been the Chief Medical Officer since 2019. He also works as an emergency room physician for Docs Who Care at the Knoxville Hospital and teaches at Drake University. Dr. Schaeffer was appointed to the DUR Commission in 2024; his first term will expire in June 2028.
Dr. Wadle graduated from Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed his residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Dr. Wadle is currently Section Chief of Outpatient Behavioral Health at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. He is a Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; Addictions by American Society of Addiction Medicine and American Board of Addiction Medicine; and Quality Assurance by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Dr. Wadle also serves on the Iowa Medicaid P&T Committee. Dr. Wadle was reappointed for a second term in 2022 which will expire in June 2026.
